This is Ursula’s account of a ‘mental picture’ which she saw during a prayer meeting in 1976.
“I saw a large river, dark and fairly fast flowing. On the left side was a path or road and nothing grew there. In the distance, well beyond the path, was a city but it was not pleasant, it seemed to be partly in ruins and some smoke was rising from it. On the same side as the path, but very far back, was another totally ruined city where some great catastrophe had taken place.
I then saw a very large crowd of people looking dejected, shocked and dispirited. They walked like dead people, their clothes grey and torn, their faces covered in grey ash and their heads bowed. They looked neither right nor left but seemed to be heading for the partly ruined city in the distance ahead of them.
I then looked to the right bank of the river, and it was full of grass and flowers. The sun was shining on that side and there were lots of small trees and bushes. There was also a very large tree which was growing right beside the riverbank. This tree had a thick healthy trunk and the branches on top were full of leaves as well as some kind of fruit. The fruit was visible through the leaves.
David was sitting on the grass under the tree and looking at the people and calling to them to come over - I assumed he was wanting them to rest and feel better. They kept on walking in a sort of a daze except for some children who broke away from the rest and somehow crossed the river without any harm.
David started playing with them and they were all running about and laughing. Then they pointed to the fruit on the tree and David tried to get it for them, but it was too high up. A woman came, I had the impression it was Our Lady, and just touched the tree and it bent over giving everyone, including David, the chance to pick as much fruit as they wanted.
