Chapter 85 of 90 TEST
ELANGUEST & MALTA

Dreams

The family was going through very difficult times with our business as our language school was to close down. Buyers were being looked for, but we were being very choosy as the school had been built on much prayer and we did not want it end up in the wrong hands.

Our house, Gospa House, was on the market as well as was another commercial property which the school ran for accommodating the students. This was making heavy losses due to the fact that we had stopped taking in students. The words of our dear friend, Sister Irene from Pietrelcina, had stayed with me and I focused on the Kingdom of God and allowed Him to work in the situation. Since I hadn’t dealt with any of the school’s daily problems for the last few years, I had no idea what to do.

Ursula had been more involved and knew what the problems were and was better equipped to solve them but most of the burden was falling on our son’s shoulders who himself was not in the best of health. You can imagine the turmoil the family was going through but even then, we seemed to be at peace.

I went to bed as usual at about 11 pm and fell fast asleep within seconds. Ursula often read from some religious book to relax before sleeping. She was taking everything in her stride.

I had a very pronounced, realistic dream. I saw this 30-year-old, Mediterranean man whose face was totally unfamiliar. Yet, somehow, deep in my spirit I felt a lot of gratitude towards him. It was a very profound sense of indebtedness even though I had no recognition whatever of this person. I was mystified and asked him why he was being so kind to me. I said that I didn’t know him and yet I knew he was doing so much for me, and I asked him why.

He replied that I did know him, and I kept saying, “No, I don’t” I must have repeated it several times, insisting that I did not know him. He looked at me with a loving smile and said, “Yes, you do David. When you did it to the least of them, you did it to me.”

Praise God, thank you Jesus. I knew it was the Lord encouraging me and telling me that He was very much present and cared.

Another dream a few weeks later, involved two men on a raft at sea but very close to the rocky beach where people swim. I knew this particular beach as it was very near my early family home, and I used to go swimming there with my dad and sisters. The two men seemed very content and at peace but suddenly the raft began to sink. They jumped off and swam to the shore and in my dream, I saw them disappear off to some kiosk on the beach.

I stood there, looking out to the sea and was wondering what made the raft sink when out of nowhere my father appeared and was walking towards me. He was very close to the sea and yet appeared to be immaculately dressed with a blue and white striped tie. I was amazed by the tranquility and serenity of his whole being as he came to join me. There was a feeling of such utter pride because he seemed so tranquil, at ease and dignified.

Little was said as we warmly greeted each other and walked off together to find the other two who were on the raft.

I can never tell in these dreams whether it is my earthly or my Heavenly Father although, physically, it was my earthly father, and I felt a great deal of love for him.
