Chapter 88 of 90 TEST
PIETRELCINA

Reconstructing the new Italy house

The house we were reconstructing in Italy was taking much too long. NP, the architect, had worked on our little town house previously and so I had great trust in his ability to oversee the project. He very kindly suggested that he would see to it all as this would be very good value for money. No papers were signed, and the work started when we were around. What I hadn’t catered for was Italian workmen and their habit of going from site to site to secure jobs. What was meant to take 6 months dragged on to 9 months then to a year. I went to confession in Pietrelcina to let the priest know that I was unforgiving and angry and had lost trust in the Italian workers. The priest seemed to know what I was talking about.

That night, slightly calmer, I fell asleep and, in my dream, walked with Padre Pio who assured me that he had walked past my house many times. I was calm and reassured by this. His prayers were known.
